Project “Flour Power”

"Flour Power" was born and developed within the "stretched time" during the Corona pandemic, where on the one hand one was strongly thrown back on oneself and on the other hand one could observe the effects of the pandemic on our entire social fabric.
Flour was the starting material for the project, which initially referred to the way we deal with our resources, the (supposed) scarcity of commodities as well as food and the reaction to this, leading to the purchase of large quantities of certain items that ultimately could not be consumed to the same extent. This included flour.
I wanted to restore some of the value of flour as an indispensable staple food by using it sparingly as a raw material in an abstract setting. At the same time, I also wanted to symbolize themes that are of particular importance at this time:
The loneliness that comes from isolation, the social changes that on the one hand unite and on the other hand can cause deep rifts, but also the willingness to help and the intensification of relationships.
